Dandelion Weed or Medicine?

Dandelion:  The Victim of Marketing.

You've been taught to believe that the dandelion
is the enemy of your yard, but is it?

So advertising will tell you this 'weed' has to be eradicated as the number one enemy of your yard.   If the dandelion had equal representation, the facts would change.  The bees and your body both love it.

When people ask what it does for the body, the answer is really what doesn't it do.  I say it's like eating carrots.  Your general health is boosted and improved, allowing your body to be supported to do the work it does naturally.

To be more specific, dandelion is loved by your liver.  It helps it detox which in turn allows your body to produce more glutathione which completes the cycle of helping you detox even more. Dandelion is a great contributor to creating more of the body's natural detoxification ability.

Dandelion is a great antioxidant, supports weight loss, assists with water retention and because it balances blood sugars it can assist with diabetes.  If you are detoxing heavy metals the glutathione support will make a difference.  Dandelion also assists with balancing candida in the gut.

You can buy dandelion as a capsuled supplement or dried herb, but pulling it straight out of your pesticide-free yard is the greatest reward.  Not only is it free, but it's satisfying to know that it is pure and homegrown.

You can eat the entire plant if it is to your liking.  That includes the leaves, the flowers and the root.  Some use it in salads and cooking.  Personally I just steep it for tea, using fresh or dried product.

With the power packed benefits of potassium, calcium and vitamins there is really no reason not to include it in your life.  The flavor of the leaves can be a bitter green flavor and teas are an earthy, very natural flavor.  Dandelion can be mixed with mint or another favorite tea, but no matter how you source it or use it, your liver will be grateful.

Epstein Barr

Epstein Barr virus is a factor
for most human bodies.

It is a global issue and is so common that it is found in most every human body.

Picture
Chickenpox, mononucleosis, herpesvirus, shingles and maybe even Covid Long Hauling are all part of the conglomerate derived from Epstein Barr Virus, or EBV.  It's common and easily shared.

The virus can lie dormant for a lifetime or cause endless issues.  Why is it an issue for some and not others?  Who knows?  Poor health and diet can be contributors, but it is very obvious when there is stress, trauma or an incident of an extreme health situation.

How it manifests can be different in different bodies, but the effects are real.  When you don't know what is going on it can cause fear and misdiagnoses, adding to the problem.

Often EBV presents itself with extreme weakness, muscle aches, fatigue along with a handful of other possibilities.  It can clear and reappear also without notice.

For those detoxing metals, it can be part of what feels like a cycle, striking when you become especially worn out, overextended, highly stressed or when the detox process presents contamination in the bloodstream.  When it strikes, the fear, stress and depression that follow serve to intensify the problems.

For others it might be the trauma of surgery, an accident or a major illness.   This could be a good explanation for Covid Long-Hauling.

There are excellent ways to care for yourself once you recognize EBV symptoms.   Research them all and see what works for you.  Every body is different, but all can learn to live with the ongoing cycles if they understand them.

That means getting to know your body and working with it in partnership...not finding the right pill.

Is While Willow Bark on your radar?

If not, you might want to give it a look.  It might be helpful to have in your arsenal of pain relief  and support products.

It comes in many forms and has qualities to support the body in a number of ways.  It might be a resource to research and get to know.

As with most herbal remedies, the formal research is lacking and so it is not recognized by the FDA as a remedy, cure or mitigating substance.  To others it is known as "Nature's Aspirin."

Candida Yeast Formula for Children and Adults

7/1/2020

  1. Candida is a gut issue that can manifest in infants and adults.  It can be tricky to solve if left
  2. unmanaged, but it is most always
  3. something you can remedy at home.

Picture
Candida, when recognized, is usually thought to be an adult issue, but it can be present in children as young as infants.  Diet is the usual fix, healing from the inside out rather than treating a number of random symptoms with drugs.

Candida can show itself in children as colic hives, eczema, thrush, constipation, diarrhea, recurring diaper rash, recurring ear infections, fatigue, gas, bladder infections, vaginal infections and even symptoms of ADHD.

Adults can have similar symptoms, but recognize candida more commonly as chronic fatigue, sugar cravings, nail infections, autoimmune disorders, inability to focus, allergies, depression, anxiety, irritability and mood swings.  Most of these symptoms are diagnosed as other conditions, but many can be solved by clearing the gut of candida overgrowth.

After years of a candida controlling diet and trying new products for systemic candida, I was believing that candida symptoms might just be part of life, especially if heavy metals are part of the equation.  When Dr. Rydland's Candida Yeast Herbal Formula was recommended it sounded like just one more thing to try, but I found it has great possibilities.

I say possibilities because every body is different and it seems that  timing is everything.  This formula was right for me, at the time.  Candida is tricky, it mutates and so, not all yeast is the same and not all remedies work for everyone, but this one is worth a mention.  I personally had great success with the product.

Dr. Rydland's Candida Yeast Herbal Formula is made of simple ingredients like garlic, black walnut, barks and roots.  It is GMO-free, soy-free, gluten-free and dairy-free.  It is formulated for dosing to children as young as one month and  five pounds, yet, it is still effective for adults.

Onion Magic

It seems like there is always one more use for onion that you've never heard about before.  This is a home remedy that I've seen work.  It's easy and so, worth a try.

Under this waterproof bandage is a small piece of onion being used to draw cyst-like fluid from under the skin.  I've seen this work on splinters, warts and solid nodules after a few applications.

You can simply put a piece of onion on the skin or you can chop it fine to put more moisture and benefits onto the area.  It's not surgery, so you can't expect immediate change.  Nature takes a big longer while it is working in harmony with your body.

Other onion magic claims include:

Controlling
cholesterol
Inflammation fighter
Antioxidant
Absorbing the smell of fresh paint
Improving arthritis pain
Stain remover
Metal polish
Insects Repellant
Acne healer
Improving bone density
Heart strengther
Digestive aid
Nutrient source
Bacteria fighter
South insect sting or bite
Absorbs flu, cold and fever germs when cut and left open

Keeping Baby Safe Easily

When you have the option of
                                  keeping baby safe

                                       Why Not?

Somewhere in our history the smell of a baby became associated with commercial products.  The most famous of these is Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Powder which is currently losing legal battles for causing ovarian cancer, yet, the imprint of that smell remains associated with baby.

With a new baby coming into the family, I did a bit of research.  I used a site called Skin Deep by EWG.  They rate cosmetics and personal care products.  You can look up most ingredients and thousands of items are listed by product.  The scale they use is 1-10 with 5 being moderately harmful.   For me 5 is too much for a baby, or for me.  Why not go as low as possible and keep away from mineral oil, other petroleum products and hormone disruptors?

In just researching shampoo products briefly here is what I found:

Burt’s Bees score of 3 and 4.  The company was sold to Clorox, so beware.

Aveeno is 3 and 4 for most baby products.

Nature’s Baby is 3.

Paul Mitchell for Baby is 4.

Yes to Baby Carrots is 4.

Johnson and Johnson No More Tears comes up a 5.  I also researched their Cotton Touch by ingredients and the first few are 4 and 5.

Desitin registers a 5, not because of the zinc oxide (which registers 2-3), but because of the added ingredients.

In general, if it is made by Corporate America…worry.  That mean all that is familiar, all that is common and all that have coupons are suspect of using inexpensive, toxic ingredients.

In just a few minutes, I made 3 products that are easy to make and safe.
There are endless recipes on line so you can tailor them to your likes.

Recipes:

Diaper Cream
A combination of coconut oil and beeswax with essential oil.  You could
also combine it with castor oil which is antibacterial like coconut oil, or shea butter if you want a moisturizer.

Baby Powder
Combine organic arrowroot with lavender oil.   You can also use
corn starch, but keep it GMO-free.

Shampoo/Wash
1 cup water

1/4 cup Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap

1 Tablespoon olive oil

Add vitamin E and essential oil fragrance if you like.

Vein Remedy

This  was a random internet find that happens to work.  It is called Horse Chestnut Cream and this brand is Planetary.  The cost was about $20 US.  Although it has many uses that include supporting hemorrhoids, arthritis, sprains, eczema and joint pain, it is also know for healing veins.

Horse Chestnut Cream is used in Europe as an effective and sanctioned remedy for veins with mild to moderate blood flow disorders and varicose veins.  It is said to support vessel wall functioning and offers relief for pain and swelling.

This vein was approximately 8" long and measured about 1/2" in height.  In 3-4 days of using Horse Chestnut cream on it, there were definite signs of improvement.  I cannot speak to whether this is a permanent improvement or not, as it has only been a few weeks, but the difference is noticeable.  Some days it disappears completely.

I also used the Horse Chestnut cream on areas of small blood vessels that show as purple patches.  These improved within days.

Guide To Detoxing Heavy Metals on Your Own DIY

2/14/2019

Picture

There are a number of things
you can do on your own to
 assist your body in
removing heavy metals.

After 30 years of trial and error, I would say this is a decent overview of what I might tell a friend to do if they were metals poisoned.  Today there are more options and a lot more awareness of the problem even though still we are starved for information about metals poisoning and what to expect.

If starting out today, I would use Emeramed’s NBMI from the beginning.  That would have saved me from years of pain, IV therapy and side effects.   At the moment of this publication, NBMI is not widely available and is still within FDA trials.

For more information on NBMI and explore  www.searchforthecausenotjustthecure.com.

Metals Poisoned and Not Sure Where to Start?
There is no on-size-fits all when it comes to knowing exactly how to best detox heavy metals.  There are formal protocols, natural remedies, IV therapies and drugs.  Ultimately what you choose is personal and should be decided from your own research.   There are few true experts in the field.

The toxicity of your body is not a precise match to anyone else.  That means symptoms and results vary.  You can’t expect to have all of the symptoms reported and you can expect to find different ones.

I suggest you read all you can and incorporate that which feels right to you.  Detoxing metals can be harsh, so the rule is slow and easy, while the urge to go fast is huge.

To be sure, your body is overwhelmed when it is poisoned.  The body will attempt to keep your bloodstream clear by detoxing as fast as possible.  When that becomes too difficult or there is too much toxicity, the body stores it in fat, tissue, organs and bones to keep you safe.  That storage is what can cause unpredictable illness with seemingly no cause.

Pain and illness is your body showing signs of being overburdened.  If you continue with a toxic lifestyle you are going to simply wear it out.  To allow your body to focus on healing and detoxing metals that are stored, you have to give it less work.  Less work for your body means a cleaner life with fewer chemicals and poisons.

Consider your daily use of chemicals in cosmetics, personal care products, cleaning products, pet products and garden supplies.  They all add up to a daily detox workload for your body.  If your body is busy working on reducing the chemical in your daily shampoo or soap, it just cannot focus as much time on removing your metals.  What you eat also matters.

When you start to clean up your life, don’t forget your skin and lungs.  They both absorb  easily.  What you breath and put on your skin matter.

Below are some topics and questions that most people ask.  My answers are from my own experiences and from others who are in the same position.  You should verify anything you read for yourself, remembering that the combination of toxicity for your body is unique to you.

If I have “Silver Fillings” am I Mercury Poisoned?

1.  Yes, all “silver fillings” contain mercury.
2.  To understand how fillings poison see the Smoking Teeth video linked below
      http://www.searchforthecausenotjustthecure.com/blog/three-lies-about-mercury-fillings .
3.  These fillings are an ongoing source of contamination and danger.

Gut Health and Candida Testing

If you have metals poisoning, you can expect that your gut is suffering too.  We casually call the problem “candida”.   Keeping the gut happy is one of the most important things you can do to lessen symptoms including pain, illness, lethargy, psoriasis, eczema, nail fungus, brain fog, IBS and many more common complaints that are actually gut related issues.  Rule out candida or Leaky Gut issues with the simple home test.

1.  Candida testing for gut health is easy.  Find the steps are at
     http://www.searchforthecausenotjustthecure.com/blog/candida-testing-at-home.
2.  Read more about symptoms and protocol at searchforthecausenotjustthecure.com.

Some background information you should have before detoxing metals.

1.  You cannot clear the body of contamination  with an  ongoing  source of toxicity.  That
means that if you still have mercury fillings, and all silver fillings have mercury content,
you will not recover until they are safely removed.  You can, however, assist your body
during this time by nutritionally supporting it, removing all other sources of toxicity
and eating foods that naturally assist in detoxification.  Detoxing is not a remedy for
ongoing contamination, in fact, many say you should not formally detox while there are
     mercury fillings in your mouth.

2.  A medical professional, traditional or natural healer, will be a great asset.
3.  Traditional doctors are not often well versed in metals poisoning treatments.
4.  Insurance, currently rarely pays for metals treatment or proper testing.
5.  Blood testing in not an appropriate test for metals testing.  Although it can
show when there is contamination in the blood, it cannot show what is stored,
giving a false sense of security if a test says  you are clear of metals.
6.  Clearing the body of metals should be slow and deliberate.
7.  No two bodies will react the same.
8.  Combinations of poisons are far more dangerous than just one contaminant.
9.  Your diet will be a factor.
10. Nutrition matters.
11. Expect your gut to be out of balance, causing candida overgrowth complications.
12. Never stop being involved in your treatment decisions.  You will be the expert.
13. Metals hurt going in and coming out of the body.
14. You can never know exactly what to expect as symptoms and beneficial treatments evolve.

Removing Mercury Fillings:

1.  Removal of mercury should only be done by a dentist who acknowledges the
dangers of the removal process and takes precautions to protect you.
2.  It is not unusual for great sources of pain or symptoms to disappear immediately
when mercury is removed.  Other issues require detoxing and still others could
     be permanent.
3.  Knees and hips are common pain centers with mercury fillings.
4.  Patients have reported an end to medical conditions such a fibromyalgia, multiple
sclerosis and other neurological conditions after fillings are properly removed.  There
is usually no medical confirmation of these changes that names mercury as the
cause.  You cannot expect an instant cure or diminishing pain, but for those with the
experience, none reported the condition returning.
5.  IAOMT is an organization of medical professionals who understand the dangers and
safe removal of mercury.  Dentist referrals are available at www.IAOMT.org.

How long does it take to detox metals?

1. There is no single answer to how long it will take to detox a body.
2. Combinations of metals and poisons will affect the speed of clearing.
3. The health of the body is a factor in how efficiently the body can detox.
4. The length of poisoning will be a factor.
5. The amount of poison stored in organs and tissue will be a factor.
6.  Detoxing metals can take years.
7. No one can predict exactly how efficiently your body will detox.

Is Metals Testing Necessary?

1.  No, but it can provide an initial baseline.
2.  Most will find they have an accumulation of more than one metal.
3.  Regular testing can be expensive and not always necessary.
4.  Tests can often show spikes in levels of metals which are explained by a release or
“dump” from storage in the body and back into the bloodstream.

Why and how to support the body during detoxification.

  1. Detoxing is hard on the body.  Give it more rest, gentle movement and nutritional support.
  2. Each metal has an affinity for storing and damaging specific organs which will need specific care.
  3. Eliminate additional sources of toxicity to free your body up to focus on metals.
  4. The body needs nutrients found in animal protein while detoxing.
  5. Your diet should be nutrient rich and contain mostly whole foods.
  6. Food sources should be free of pesticides, antibiotics and hormones.
  7. The diet should contain foods and nutrients that support the organs being affected.
  8. Trauma, stress, sugars, dairy and flours can exacerbate pain.
  9. Glutathione production, which is essential to detoxification, should be supported
  10. Finding a chelating method to cross the blood-brain barrier is essential.

What is a chelator?

  1. A chelator is a product, food or element that binds to metals in the body.
  2. A chelator can be a supplement, pharmaceutical, food or treatment method.
  3. Some chelators have an affinity for certain metals over others.
  4. Some chelators bind tightly to the metals until they exit the body.
  5. Chelators can be weak at binding and drop the metals before they leave the body, which allows them to be reabsorbed, causing symptoms.
  6. A chelator can be a great mobilizer, but a weak binder.
  7. Chelating metals in the blood stream is faster than removal from storage in tissue, organs and bone.

Will detoxing metals make me sick?

  1. Yes, with many methods.
  2. You can expect symptoms of brain fog, pain, anxiety, anger, sight fluctuations, sleep disruption, delusions, psychological disorders, nerve damage, tremors, memory loss, headaches, hearing fluctuations, sight fluctuations. TMJ (Temporomandigular Join Disorder), bowel disorders, IBS, depression, joint pain, fatigue, candida imbalance, palsy, weakness, numbness, tingling, reproductive disfunction, skin disruptions and suicidal ideations.
  3. As your body is processing you can expect good days and bad days.
  4. Taking breaks from focused detoxing is important.
  5. It’s good to remember that poison hurts going into and coming out of the body.
  6. Symptoms can manifest in anyway your body chooses.

What are important life changes to be made?
  1.  Cleaning up your environment matters.
  2.  Eliminate all manageable chemicals in your day.
  3.  Cease using unsafe products on hair, skin and face.
  4.  Eliminate all poisons, in the form of household cleaners, soaps, detergents, cosmetics,
pesticides , detergents, scents and air fresheners.
  5.  Your food sources must be as clean as
       possible.

  6.  Make sure your body is getting fed all day everyday with actual nutrients, not junk.
  7.  Find a source of clean water that is not dependent on plastic that can leach chemicals into the
       water.
  8.  If you filter water with reverse osmosis replace the minerals that are extracted.

   9.  Remember that skin is your largest organ and will absorb toxins as will lungs.

Can I begin detoxing heavy metals naturally on my own?
1.  Yes.
2.  There are many foods that will assist in deleting metals.
3.  Garlic may be one of the best detoxifying agents.
