                    Parabens or Paraben-Free
                         Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
                              Propylene Glycol

It's time to be introduced to your daily toxins.

Your bathroom is full of products labeled with dangerous ingredients, but we really don't understand them.  Instead we trust, believing no one would consider poisoning us.   A bit of research can give you the chance to make decent decisions.
Common Product Ingredients:

1.  Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, SLS, SLES and MSDS,
a very popular, caustic detergent and emulsifier in creams, lotions, household products, shampoo, dish soap, toothpaste and personal care items.  A known allergen.

Additionally, SLS may allow potentially carcinogenic nitrates and dioxins to form in bottles of products by reacting with commonly used ingredients.  Large amount of nitrates can enter the bloodstream from just one shampooing.

2.  Petroleum, Petrolatum, Paraffin, Paraffin Oil, Propylene Glycol and Mineral Oil, produced from crude oil, these products can suffocate the skin by forming an oil film that blocks the skin from taking in oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide.  The restricting of the natural processes of the skin can result in unhealthy, sensitive skin that dries easily.  These products can be carcinogens.

3.  Parabens, found in gels, cleansing products, deodorants, topical pharmaceuticals, shave creams and cosmetics are used for extending shelf life.  Parabens are known to alter hormone levels, increasing risks for cancer, impairing fertility and altering the development of a fetus or young child.

4.  Propylene Glycol, called a humectant in cosmetics is also industrial anti-freeze, the primary ingredient for brake fluid.  This is a very strong skin irritant known to cause liver abnormalities and kidney damage, while it improves the spreading ability of cosmetics and some food products.

This product causes the fatal destruction of red blood cells, yet it is one of the most widely used ingredients in cosmetics. It can also be found in vitamins and injectable medications.

5.  Aluminum, with a direct link to Alzheimer's Disease, is in all anti-perspirants and cooking foil.  It is also found in food, cosmetics and antacids.  This heavy metal has no safe tolerance level in the body.

6. Ethanolamine, 2-Aminoethanol, Monoethanolamine, MEA, Diethanolamine, DEA, Triethanolamine, TEA, these known carcinogens are a toxic, flammable, corrosive, colorless liquid with an odor similar to ammonia, but because they are responsible for sudsing and scrubbing they are widely used.

It's Pumpkin if the FDA says it's Pumpkin!

When is a pumpkins something
other than a pumpkin?

Apparently when the FDA says so...

When the canned pumpkin in your cupboard says 100% pumpkin, you now must wonder if that is true according to the written word or to the interpretation of the Food and Drug Administration.  Somehow it has been decided that 100% can mean other than actually 100%.

There is no logic to this method of untruthful disclosure, but what you can know for sure is that the consumer was not the first concern.  Read the full document below which is published on fda.gov to learn the details which will leave you wondering if the FDA is a trustworthy source of protection.
CPG Sec. 585.725 "Pumpkin" - Labeling Articles Made from Certain Varieties of Squash
https://www.fda.gov/iceci/compliancemanuals/compliancepolicyguidancemanual/ucm074635.htm

BACKGROUND:
Canned "pumpkin" has for many years been packed from field pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo) or certain varieties of firm-shelled, golden-fleshed, sweet squash (Cucurbita maxima), or mixtures of these. Pumpkin and squash are sometimes mixed intentionally to obtain the consistency most acceptable to users.

Since l938, we have consistently advised canners that we would not initiate regulatory action solely because of their using the designation "pumpkin" or "canned pumpkin" on labels for articles prepared from golden-fleshed, sweet squash, or mixtures of such squash with field pumpkins. In the absence of any evidence that this designation misleads or deceives consumers we see no reason to change this policy.

POLICY:
In the labeling of articles prepared from golden-fleshed, sweet squash or mixtures of such squash and field pumpkin, we will consider the designation "pumpkin" to be in essential compliance with the "common or usual name" requirements of sections 403(i)(l) and 403(i)(2) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and the "specifying of identity" required by section 1453(a)(1) of the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act.

Free Sample with Side Effects

My eye doctor offered this free sample, knowing I would check every ingredient.  I didn't get past the first one.

Cetalkonium Chloride is the main ingredient and it has a lot of bad press.  Apparently it is one of those chemicals that is finding it's way into personal products, food products, household cleaners, hand sanitizers and disinfectants.  In other words, we are becoming inundated with it as with many other chemicals used to manufacture.

This chemical has the ability to cause a number of side effects and should not be used casually.  It is linked to chronic dermatitis,  asthma, COPD and causing immune disfunction.  With that said, introducing it into the eyes seems an unimaginable risk to take.

Checking the ingredients of what you put into, or on, your body is now your responsibility.  Doctors accept that drugs have chemicals, but you have choices and NO is a good answer.

Apple Cilantro Salad to Detox Metals

             Detoxing Metals?

This mix of cilantro with pectin from
               organic apples could help.

Cilantro mobilizes metals that are stored in the body and brain.  Because it is so powerful, it often gets a bad rap from people who feel ill after eating it.   The problem comes when it mobilizes
more metal than the body can detox.   That happens with other chelators as well.  The process of reabsorbing left over metals hurts.

Apples contain pectin, which is a natural chelator.  Why not combine the two and see if you can assist the work cilantro creates?

While you use the cilantro leaves for this salad, don't throw away the stems.  They can be used for salad dressing, see http://www.searchforthecausenotjustthecure.com/blog/cilantro-detox-dressing-to-remove-heavy-metals.  Starting with the base of apples and cilantro, you can add many things to this salad.  Chopped walnuts will help the brain function and add protein, turmeric or cinnamon are good inflammation fighters and switching the mayonnaise to cultured yogurt will help fight candida.

Apple Cilantro Salad
2 organic apples, cut into bitesized pieces
1 bunch organic cilantro leaves, chopped
1/3 cup mayonnaise or cultured yogurt
1 Tbls. organic lemon juice
Pepper, to taste
Organic honey, to taste, optional

Place cut apples and cilantro in a mixing bowl.  In a separate bowl whisk mayonnaise, lemon juice, and pepper.  Adjust to your taste using a bit of honey if desired.  Mix together and serve immediately or refrigerate.

Serves 1-2
