Assisting laryngitis with onions is a home remedy that floats the internet. Since I woke up barely able to speak, I thought I'd give it a try. Recommendations online vary, but all are very simple. I went very basic.
Create a potion out of minced onion and a bit of water boiled for about 5 minutes. How much of each probably does not matter much, but I used about 2-3 tablespoons of minced onion in a 1/4 cup of water.
Thinking it could not hurt, I added a teaspoon of honey to the hot mixture.
Since honey is antimicrobial, antibacterial and antiseptic it has no choice but to help the situation.
