Detoxifying Methods:
Garlic
It isn't easy to say a bad word about garlic. Your body loves it. Although it does not detox directly, it helps your body create glutathione which is detox-central for the body. As you age, your body naturally produces less glutathione, so the more garlic, the better. Glutathione will eliminate heavy metals and toxins from the body.
Colonic
Colonics irrigate the colon and help to evacuate metals and toxins carried in waste. It is important, to keep the colon clear, so that you do not reabsorb toxicity back into your body. Colonic treatments range from from $50 to $100 and are often sold in series of multiple treatments. These are extremely helpful during detoxing and the feeling of well being is almost immediate. Garlic, wheatgrass or coffee are often added to colonics for increased benefits as these ingredients are absorbed by the body and promote healing.
Ionic foot bath
The concept of the ionic foot that is that the ion mechanism is able to draw out toxicity, including metals, and cleanse organs. There is a lot of controversy over the true efficacy of these baths, but those who feel better afterward will tell you they are worth the investment. Treatments cost about $50 and a machine plus supplies can be purchased for about $300.
Coffee enema
Coffee enemas are very helpful as they help to clear the liver. This can be done in conjunction with a colonic or at home. Caffeinated coffee should be used.

Dry Brushing
Dry brushing stimulates the lymphatic drainage system, which is “waste management” for the body and so helps to dispose of toxins through the circulatory system. This is easily done at home and the benefits are felt immediately.
Using a soft, dry natural bristle brush, like a bath brush, brush the body with the flow of the lymph system. Starting at the feet, lightly brush up and into the heart center in the middle of the chest. Do this also for the mid-section, from hands to the heart center and for the head and back areas.
It is a good idea to include the jaw line from the ears to the chin and down to the heart center since the jaw line is also a disposal channel from the brain. If you are having TMJ symptoms this can help by relieving any backed up waste from the mouth or head. If you do not have a brush available the fingertips work fine with light flowing movement. You can also find massage therapists who specialize in lymphatic massages.
Infrared Sauna
Infrared heat will help the body to detox through sweat glands. Saunas are helpful, but don’t overdue. You are moving toxins and you can feel ill if you do too much or too fast for the body to manage.
Massage
Massage will help to detox by rejuvenating the waste systems. It can also temporarily relieve many of the symptoms of toxicity. Lymphatic massage is a massage dedicated to the lymphatic system and to revitalizing it so that waste particles move smoothly and do not get clogged. It is very helpful, but not done by all massage therapists.
Castor Oil Pack
A pack can be made of caster oil by putting a teaspoon or more on the skin above the liver and covering it with a cotton washcloth or wool cloth. Heat with a heating pad for one hour. You can also use it on sore or inflamed areas to reduce plain and inflammation. You can modify how you use castor oil and can sleep with it overnight. The heating pad is not a necessity, but will speed the process. Castor oil speeds up the movement of the lymphatic system and promotes healing with rapid detoxification.
Epsom Salt Baths
Baths help detox and sooth symptoms of toxic poisoning even when metals toxicity is involved. Adding epsom salts increases the detoxing qualities and mineralizes the body. Soaking for at least 20 minutes is usually recommended.
Yoga
The poisoned body tends to get stiff and weak. It benefits greatly from motion that is gentle and stretching. Gentle yoga provides the release of muscles and strengthening to a body that is not always available for vigorous, cardio exercise. Yoga will also give balance to the mind and body and provide great stress relief. Since stress exacerbates pain, yoga is the perfect remedy for maintaining body agility and focusing the mind.
Meditation
Meditation will calm the soul and allow more complete healing while reducing stress. It does not have to be formal or taught. Even taking five to ten deep breaths throughout the day, will serve to remind you to slow down and bring healing oxygen into your body. If you remember to breath deeply every time you wash your hands, you create a very useful habit. Stress exacerbates pain.
Exercise
Some type of exercise consisting of gentle movement is a must. Toxic bodies tend to lose strength and balance from inactivity. Muscles tighten and become restrictive. Pain is magnified in muscles that do not move. Releasing them takes movement that also stimulates the circulatory system.
Overzealous exercise can release too many toxins and will leave a body sick and depleted. It can take days to recover from too much exercise. Know your limits, push those limits and respect your limits.
Charcoal
Food grade charcoal is often used as a detoxifier. It can be found in powder or capsules.
Betonite Clay
Bentonite clay can be used to pull toxins out of the intestines. It should be taken with plenty of water. Clay applied to the skin will pull toxins out as well. Cover the skin with a wet mixture of clay and allow it to dry before washing.
