It’s almost October
and the pink ribbons are
coming out of storage once again
not because there is a cure in sight,
but because it is brilliant marketing
and big profits.
Today it is a shameful display of clever marketing and deceit by Big Pharma and Corporate America. Together they have capitalized on creating victims of women and take in millions annually because of it. Corporations highlight everything they sell from airplanes to paper cups with pink ribbons to entice the most fearful of breast cancer to buy in the hopes of saving themselves from a terrible death.
It’s cool to care and what says I care about you more than displaying pink ribbons? I say much of this is bunk. Women are tired of the lies and they are rejecting pink ribbons in mass.
Funds raised are paying Big Pharma, the most corrupt industry in our nation, to create outrageously overpriced medications that you will pay for again. This is not logical. Why are we subsidizing one of the riches industries in this country? Not only is paying twice, and more, for harsh medications a crime, but we are paying huge salaries within the non-profits that partner with Big Pharma.
We have no idea how much of our pink ribbon buying actually gets to cancer research, but what is sure is that all of that research will be within the confines of traditional medicine that has failed us for 100 years. None of those funds are raised with the tag line “giving to the research of holistic remedies and marijuana cures.”
The true motivator for most of the ribbons you see is greed. The thought that these corporations are enjoying profits while others die is an unpunishable crime. It is time we stopped enabling the practice.
The ribbons normalize the breast cancer crisis and feminize it. It is not normal or feminine to accept breast cancer as part of life. It is time that we ceased to be victims of this disease and become armed with the facts about the cause and preventative measures.
Your acceptance of pink ribbon advertisers promotes the death of breast cancer victims. Women believe they are being protected and guided when in actuality they are being lead like sheep and failing to ask the important questions about alternatives to chemotherapy and radiation.
- Stand up and say no this year to all things pink!
- Do not accept the normalizing of breast cancer!
- Ask for green research!
The power you have is with your dollars. Write letters and express your concerns. Ask for more research into alternative medicine, foods that heal, prevention truths and ask that someone Search for the Cause, Not Just the Cure.
