Jardiance was approved August 1, 2014 for type 2 diabetes. In just three months, websites were ablaze with lawyers ready to file lawsuit for users damaged by the side effect.
Below is the ad that shamelessly advocates taking pills instead of managing the diabetic condition with food. It seems not to matter that the medication causes yeast infections in the vagina and penis and damages the the body at large. The side effects of dehydration, low blood sugar, kidney problems and increased fats, or cholesterol, in the blood are mentioned, but, as usual, they are commonly ignored by most users.
The enticing ad says: “You diet, you exercise, and you’re busy managing your type 2 diabetes along with everything else. While you do what you can on the outside, JARDIANCE works around the clock on the inside—helping your body to get rid of some of the sugar it doesn’t need through urination.”
It is an interesting set of morals and laws that allows this type of advertising in a world where marijuana is criminalized. To date marijuana has killed no one.
